Red Dead Redemption: Would You Like Some Gameplay With That?
The first video (to my knowledge) with actual gameplay from Red Dead Redemption has arrived. It looks like the game will play a lot like GTAIV and in my eyes that's not a bad thing. I was a fan of the manual shooting system in GTAIV and I look forward to a hopefully enhanced version of that system. I'm extremely pumped for the release of this game and while April doesn't seem that far away; I feel like it's going to be an eternity until I get my hands on some good ol' fashioned Western fun.
P.S. - The gameplay video comes with more clicks. Oh my Godz...fishing for clicks!
IPhone: Epic Pet Wars Review
- Game: Epic Pet Wars (v1.5.1)
- Developer: Miraphonic
- Price (at time of review): Free - $40.00
- Release Date: 10/1/2009
Games like Epic Pet Wars have been around for a while now and exist mainly on Facebook. The procedure is rather simple and routine; level up, buy better equipment, and level up some more. This format has been used for many games of the same type; an example being the Mob and Vampire games that clog up the App Store. Epic Pet Wars, or EPW, manages to distinguish itself in a crowded field. It has a large amount of pets to choose from; you actually partake in the battle as opposed to simply clicking a button and it has a huge community.
The Sausage Dump #4: Mexicans Like Sausage Too
Welcome to the Sausage Dump! Episode 4 is now live for your listening pleasure and it's a great rebound after the terribleness that was episode 3. We hate on even more things this week and bring back Dan Dizzle as our special guest once again, but that's not all folks; Dan (aka The Mexican) has agreed to join the dumpage as a permanent host! I hope you enjoy his Mexicanness and if you don't; you better get used to living without tacos and corn in your diet.
If Neglecting Your Real Life Pet Wasn't Enough
Now you'll be able to neglect your very own Avatar Pet! Tomorrow (12/3/09) will bring the first ever Avatar Pets in the form of dogs, cats, a monkey and even a pony (get a full list from the link below). I know that many people feel that Avatars are stupid and buying items/clothes for them is stupid, but no one is forcing you to buy a single item.
Red Dead Redemption: The Last Great Hope For Westerns
Red Dead Redemption is the successor to Red Dead Revolver, but the only thing the games have in common is the name. I was a fan of the first game, but it always felt a bit too linear and not as open as I would like from a Western game. Redemption has obviously solved this problem by throwing the game into the ever-crowded open-world genre, but they also seem to be doing so much more.
iPhone: Ninja TD review
- Game: Ninja TD (v1.15)
- Developer: Crazy Carpenter
- Price (at time of review): $1.99
- Release Date: 10/22/2009
This was yet another game that I downloaded on a whim off of my genius tab. Unlike my previous review of Moonlight Minions I felt this game was definitely worth the $2 spent. Ninja TD has beautiful artwork, as Moonlight Minions, and the same amount of towers. The striking artwork seems to have become a tower defense game staple and that is fine with me. The way the game plays also shows that it has some order and thought put into the progression of the game.
Angry Amazon Prime Rant: The Fudging Edition
I don’t have much to say in the form of text; I will leave most of the rant for the actual audio. Tonight (11/30/2009) I was privileged enough to deal with Amazon (dot com)’s customer service for about a half hour. The reason for this was due to the fact that they charged me for Amazon Prime while my trial period was still active and set not to automatically upgrade.
Borderlands: Zombie Island DLC Review
Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 both sold extremely well and have strong communities behind them. To estimate the amount of enjoyment that you, as a reader, will personally have, there are two questions that need to be answered.
1) Do you like Left 4 Dead?
2) Do you like more of the same?
Pixelated Sausage Grows a Fourth Ball
I would like to be the first to welcome our newest staff member: skooljester. He’s joining the writing side of the team and I’m looking forward to seeing what he brings to the sausage. Many of you may know him from the boards and our tiny community, but if not; I think you’ll get to know him rather well in due time.
