BioShock 2: Sinclair Solutions DLC

BioShock 2has only been out for two weeks and yesterday, 2K Games announced that there will be new DLC available in March. For those of us who loved our return to Rapture, this is exciting news. The new DLC is called “Sinclair Solutions Test Pack” and it will focus on multi-player. For many people, including myself, the multi-player addition was an intriguing feature of BioShock 2. Would it be good? Was it just slapped on? It ended up being a welcome surprise and the online element was done well and fun to play. Whether it's the thrill of becoming the only Big Daddy or the creepiness of making a Little Sister squeal, the multi-player was well done.

What can you expect to see in the Sinclair Solutions Test Pack? For starters, it will be only cost you 400MS points on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and $4.99 on the PlayStation Network. It will contain a number of customization features that will allow players to expand their character's development [in multi-player]. Rank levels will increase to 50 with new Rank Rewards and two new playable characters will be added: Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca. In addition to that, there will be five new masks specifically for players that reach a rank of 41 or higher and all weapons will now have a third weapon upgrade. Last but not least, there will be twenty new trials expected out with this DLC pack.

"The fans who waited in the snow, rain, and cold for the midnight launch of BioShock 2 have spoken and their message is that Rapture still has many fascinating stories to tell," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K Games. "Downloadable content is a key part of our efforts to continue to entice the fans that have made 2K a household name - we intend to deliver single and multiplayer content that respects and expands upon one of the greatest fictional worlds ever created."

In coming months, 2K Games will be putting out downloadable content for single-player as well. These future DLC packs promise to add new insight to the world of Rapture. The packages will have more narrative for the story, new tools, and new challenges that give you more of the lore and fiction of the failed Utopia under the sea. The BioShock 2 single-player drew me in as completely as the first one did and I’m always looking forward to exploring more of Rapture and its twisted occupants.
