Within the Blade Almost Hits the Mark, But Marc Spells Their Name With a C, Sooo...

Within the Blade is a stealthy action-platformer where you play as a ninja and slice and dice your way through level after level, unlocking skills and new equipment along the way. There is crafting, laughing, but sadly, no river rafting. It gets a lot of things right, but it misses the mark where it counts: gameplay. A few gameplay quirks lead to it feeling a bit off and, because of that, I wasn't driven to stick with the game after beating a few levels, defeating the first boss, and leveling up my ninja a moderate degree. That said, my issues with the gameplay may not bother you, so listen to the episode for exactly why Within the Blade felt off to me and, who knows, maybe what I had a problem with won't be a problem for you.

Anyway, that's it and that's all folks. You can get an even more in-depth discussion by listening to the podcast and, if you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, the podcasts, the streaming, the videos, the art, and everything in between. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to consume any of the content I make and thank you for being a fan. I can't begin to express how much I appreciate each and every one of you. Cheers.
