PSP #254: Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition / Organ Trail: Complete Edition / The Problem with Anime Shorts...

Marc follows up one of the best episodes yet with another strong (but shorter) episode full of enthusiasm and reasons why Rob (of Pixelated Radio fame) would be the worst companion if the zombie apocalypse ever came to fruition--he really would be the worst, the absolute worst. That said, the actual crap talked about on today's show includes the fantastic Divinity: Original Sin, the nostalgic-rich Organ Trail, and Marc's reason for not liking anime shorts, or, better put, the reason why Marc and anime shorts work together about as well as M. Night Shyamalan and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Cheers and enjoy the show.

PSP #253: Halo: Combat Evolved / Steve Jobs / Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad...

Today's show is full of changes and surprises and bouts of nonsense sprinkled with various bleeps and bloops and, on top of all that, Marc is joined, briefly, by his father as they [attempt to] talk about Steve Jobs, not the man, but the movie; though, it's kind of hard to not talk about the man when the movie is all about him, so, yeah. When Marc isn't "talking" with his father about Steve Jobs, they talk about their frustrations with the end of Halo: Combat Evolved and how they're still enjoying the anime, Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.

Anyway, that's it and that's all, folks, and, if you're feeling extra generous, donate a little money or subscribe to show your support for the site and show(s); it's not free to host the site, the show, to make and record videos, and everything in between, so, anything would be greatly appreciated, even if you just tell a friend or two about the site and show(s). PSP #252: Blood Bowl 2 / Halo / System Shock: Enhanced Edition / Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad...

Marc launches right into a tangent of nonsense about phones and pretty people working at Best Buy on today's episode before eventually returning to the world of Blood Bowl 2, reviewing the mashup of American football--throw in some Rugby, too--and the Warhammer universe ('cause who doesn't want to play football with a team made up of giant rat men, a.k.a., the Skaven, a.k.a., the "Splinters"). Once they're done slurping the last droplets of blood from their nonexistent bowl, they go back in time with some classic Halo and even classic(er) System Shock: Enhanced Edition. And then, of course, as always, they end with anime, reviewing the first half of Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad and touching on a handful of seasonal anime--expect some disappointment.

PSP #251: FORCED / Halo: Combat Evolved / Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day...

The last episode was the (should have been) very special 250th episode; however, this here 251st episode feels much more special, in large part because Marc, for a change, actually spent way more time--a few minutes or so, compared to the usual zero--preparing for the show, instead of just diving in, headfirst, not knowing if the podcast pool was full of piranhas or not. So, what did they talk about on this special (but not actually special) episode of this very "special" podcast? Well, they start with a tangent about credit cards before eventually talking, in length, about the arena-based hack 'n' slash RPG, FORCED--which is surprisingly not too shabby--after that bit o' nonsense, they hit some Halo, then change directions with the critically acclaimed and much-loved anime, Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, and end with a smattering of currently airing anime.

PSP #250: Video Game Buffet / The Deer God / The World God Only Knows II / Comet Lucifer...

In what should be an extra special episode full of surprises and loveliness and beards and oatmeal for everyone, Marc loses their mind as they try and find something to play, playing game after game after game in the process, leaving a path of destruction in their wake. While they struggle to find a game to make their day, no struggle is had when it comes to finding anime that is more than just ok. And, if nothing else, all this nonsense at least allowed us all to experience and "enjoy" just a wee bit of rhyming. Cheers and enjoy the rest of your day. And #2: if y'all have actually listened to all 250 episodes of this here podcast, well, I pity y'all and your inability to dial 1-800-COLLECT 'cause y'all are in dire need of recollecting your sanity.

Hard West looks like the XCOM Western I never knew I always wanted

I love westerns. I love XCOM. When you take those two loves and attempt to mash 'em together, well, you have my attention and my attention is exactly what CreativeForge Studios has with Hard West, an upcoming turn-based strategy game set to release on November 4th, 2015. Now, I didn't even know Hard West existed until this morning--I stopped paying attention to Kickstarter games a while ago--but I'm happy I know about it now and, hopefully, will be even happier when the game comes out if it manages to surprise me once again, this time, however, with its quality. Anyway, I will hopefully stop using the word "hopefully" soon and will also, sigh, hopefully get my hands on Hard West in the coming week(s) so I can let y'all know if it's worth your hard-earned cash or not; until then, check out the release date announcement trailer below.

P.S. Hard West will release at the very digestible price of $19.99 (or $24.99 for a Collector's Edition) and can be pre-purchased on Steam right now for 20% off if y'all are feelin' lucky.

PSP #249: Transformers: Devastation / Toy Soldiers: War Chest / Natsume's Book of Friends / Brave Beats / Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans...

There's nothing quite like going into something expecting nothing and leaving wanting so much more and, thanks to Transformers: Devastation, Marc is feeling that way right now; though, it still doesn't make up for Activision's treachery releasing the devastatingly horrific Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. In addition to transforming thoughts of robots into words filled with joy, y'all, Marc also talks about Toy Soldiers: War Chest and a handful of anime--including the pleasantly delightful, absolutely lovely Natsume's Book of Friends and thee incredibly odd and, "What the hell am I watching?...," Brave Beats. Cheers and enjoy the show.

PSP #248: Cross of the Dutchman / Blood Blockade Battlefront / STARMYU / Shomin Sample / Heavy Object / Chivalry of a Failed Knight / The Perfect Insider...

Today's episode is so full of (some) games and (mostly) anime that it's amazing Marc was able to get all of it packed into an episode lasting just over 40 minutes. How did they do it? I don't know and, being the aforementioned "Marc," if I don't know, nobody knows. Anyway, the show begins with a tale about how searching for a new cell phone ultimately led to the happiest of happy amiibo finds--Little Mac says hi (by punching y'all in the face)--and then steps on the gas as Marc hits a few games--including a little indie game that could...n't--and a whole bunch of new (and old) anime. Cheers and enjoy the show.

PSP #247: Star Wars: Battlefront / Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign / One Punch Man / Mr. Osomatsu / Dance with Devils / Beautiful Bones -Sakurako's Investigation- / Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen...

Like the Energizer Bunny, this episode just keeps going and going and going as Marc talks about the Star Wars: Battlefront beta--which is way better than the Rainbow Six Siege beta--and how the latest Metal Gear Solid V patch--which adds Metal Gear Online and tweaks the single-player in various minute ways--has 'em addicted to the game yet again--it's a problem. And, like always, Marc ends the show with a whole lot of new Fall anime--including a show about a dog that loves to stretch their master's towel and a show where a young lady really likes bones, like, really likes 'em. Cheers and enjoy the show (and your weekend too).

PSP #246: The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Review / Witch Craft Works / Noragami Aragoto / Concrete Revolutio / Comet Lucifer / The Asterisk War / Lance N' Masques...

The Fall anime season is upon us and that means the Crunchyroll and FUNinmation queues that enjoyed the briefest of rests are now full and overflowing with brand new shows to watch (and hopefully enjoy) once again--including the second season of Noragami; however, before Marc goes crazy with all the anime (all the anime!), they review the traditional point-and-click adventure game, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, after talkin' a bit about the brand new, super-cheap $50 Amazon Fire. Cheers and enjoy the show.
