Dark is the kind of game I love to find on the Xbox LIVE Indie Game marketplace. It’s unique and different, has a great style, and it’s a game I won’t soon forget. Every Xbox 360 owner should buy this game without question; it’s worth every single penny.
The game starts by giving you the option to start from the beginning, or from any level (including the grand finale) right from the start. It’s nice to have the option, but there isn’t much reason to skip any of the levels; the game can be completed in around twenty minutes. That may seem like a turnoff and while it is short, it’s engaging and enjoyable from start to finish.
I’m a sucker for style and love the simplistic visuals and use of lighting in Dark. It really added to the overall atmosphere and is one of the key features in making Dark stand out. The music is well-made and feels at home with the rest of the game; I never felt like muting the sound. I don’t want to go into too many more details because Dark is a game that should be experienced and not simply read about on the internet.
Dark is one of the best XBL Indies I’ve played and it shouldn’t go unnoticed; it’s the kind of game you’ll want to show your non-gaming friends. There’s no reason to waste your time downloading the trial, download the full version and thank me when it’s over. Dark is an absolute steal at 80MS points and I can only hope that the XBL Indie marketplace gets more games like this in the future.
